Juke (ユーク) is one of the crew members of the NefeloMakion. They are Playable Character 4 (PC4) in the Hajimari no Kioku game. They are 21 years old during the events of the game. Their crew position is listed as Spacecraft Helmsman (宇宙船操舵担当) and their role is listed as Energy Supply.

Juke's short profile states that they're sociable but mysterious. They come from a special race with spells carved onto their bodies. Juke has lightning powers. Do you also have a spiritual side?^[1]

Juke is from the Other Dimension, but has a counterpart STAR AnimaL in this dimension. As stated in the events of Twin Crew Stars, the animal Juke in this dimension has the memories and abilities of the humanoid Juke from the other dimension due to a special inter-dimensional communication mechanism.

• Although Juke has a mysterious air about them, they're sociable and don't reject anyone when it comes to communication.
• Juke is from a race that has a different outlook on life when compared to other races. Their race is a race that lives on by inheriting souls.
• Juke's physical age is 21, but their soul is much older than that.
• Juke strongly dislikes interracial strife and conflicts caused by differences in ideology. They sympathize with Astel's ideology and as such, lend their strength to him.
• Juke excels at medium-range combat, and uses their powers to manipulate lightning.
• Has a kind heart.

Note: When asked if Juke is a woman or a man, the response is 'who knows?' This is linked to their race inheriting souls over time, so the physical form does not necessarily reflect the soul inside of Juke.

Basic Information

Juke in this dimension comes in the form of a light green bear-like animal. They were retrieved by Apolleon, Pollneu and Arecos from the planet Jupiter. Juke likes Muscat Grapes. Their hobby is magic. Their hex color code is #4FBF83. Juke is the fourth of the NefeloMakion crew counterpart animals to join Astel in this dimension.

Personality

Juke looks mysterious but is sociable and kind. Juke is very accepting of everyone and isn't pushy when it comes to initiating interaction. They'll get along well with whoever comes to them, but won't chase after those who choose to walk away. When performing in 3D, Juke smiles and waves a lot, and has a tendency to move their head cutely to get their bangs out of their eyes^[4].

Recruitment

Prior to the events of Juke's recruitment, it is mentioned that Phruity helps with preparing the food for the investigation team while Merck is in charge of keeping up communication no matter the distance travelled^[5]. It is assumed they did not accompany the investigation team to Mars and Jupiter as both were in Astel's home during the dates while Apolleon wasn't on earth^[6][7].

On October 19, 2022, Apolleon, along with Pollneu and Arecos, arrive on Jupiter from Mars. Apolleon comments that Astel's house is now too small for the increasing number of inhabitants. He recommends that Astel move to get a bigger house^[8].

Come October 21, 2022, it appears as if Apolleon and the others are still on Jupiter. He comments that Jupiter has huge clouds covering the sky, tornadoes are forming everywhere, and that there seems to be a lot of magnetic turbulence ahead. At this point, Apolleon also says that their group needs to be back by Sunday night (October 23, 2022)^[9].

In the morning of October 23, 2022, Phruity prepares a fruit tart for Astel to eat before his stream later on in the day^[10]. In the afternoon of the same date, Apolleon informs everyone that they have made it back to earth on time^[11]. He posts another teaser for Arecos' reveal^[12], but it is safe to assume that both Juke and Arecos have returned with him on this date as he has gone to both Mars and Jupiter by now.

During Astel's evening stream on that date, it is revealed that Phruity's fruit tart brought back Astel's memory of his crew from the other dimension. These memories are what he shares with his viewers via Hajimari no Kioku. In the same stream as the Hajimari no Kioku release to members, Arecos is introduced and a silhouette teaser for Juke is shown^[13]. Astel confirms that there is another new individual in his home aside from Arecos, but they'll be introduced at a later date^[14].

The animals seem to stay on earth for a while, with Astel informing his viewers during a reply spree that they work on the investigation together while at home^[15]. On this same day, October 28, 2022, Astel also reminds everyone that he doesn't drive his spaceship, it is Juke who does so^[16]. Sometime later that day, Apolleon also tweets “Everything is for the sake of one future.”^[17].

On November 4, 2022, Astel holds a singing stream and introduces Juke during the song チキンライス (Chicken Rice) / 浜田雅功と槇原敬之^[18]. After Juke is introduced, the logo for STAR AnimaLs is also revealed on stream and Hajimari no Kioku is released to the public^[19].

When the animals split up into two groups to head to Uranus and Neptune^[21] on November 10, 2022, Juke goes with Merck and Phruity to Neptune in order to retrieve Stridon. Apolleon, Pollneu, and Arecos, on the other hand, go to Uranus to retrieve Uratty^[22].

Twin Crew Stars to Present

The day before Twin Crew Stars, a teaser video describes Astel and the STAR AnimaLs as “a certain team, striving and striving for a change in their destiny.”^[23]

During the events of Twin Crew Stars on December 7, 2022, Juke goes with the other STAR AnimaLs and Astel to confront [The One Who Rules The Universe] Astel. Their departure is shown both in the Namae wo Yobu yo cover and in Twin Crew Stars itself^[24].

In a flashback, it is shown that Astel assigned Juke to be a front line fighter alongside Arecos and Phruity. All three are told to maintain the front line and watch out for each other. While on the space train and travelling to the battlefield, Juke can be seen conversing happily with Stridon who is sitting beside them. Later on, in the scene wherein Apolleon is downed by the enemy, Juke can be seen beside Knoll.

After their victory, Juke's 3D is revealed during the song One day / The ROOTLESS. Their partner in this reveal is Merck. When the song is done, Juke waves and smiles at the viewers, shaking their head to get their bangs out of their face. Astel expresses that he's glad they all made it back safely to be able to celebrate his 3rd anniversary together.

Currently, Juke resides in Astel's house^[25].

Humanoid

• 「星に集う、船員たちの思惑 -始まりの記憶-」(Hoshi ni tsudou, sen'in-tachi no omowaku - Hajimari no Kioku -) - Juke is Playable Character 4 (PC4) in this game. They are one of the crew members attempting to solve the mystery. These events are set before Astel's debut in 2019.
• Twin Crew Stars - Juke makes an appearance in this stream along with the rest of the named NefeloMakion crew. As one of the silhouettes in the crew sequence, Juke is the seventh to speak. They first ask who established the communication system in this dimension, and then go on to mention that thanks to it, the crew was able to send through their memories and abilities to their animal counterparts in advance. Juke then ends by asking Astel to please find their counterparts in this dimension like he found his crew in the other dimension.

• 名前を呼ぶよ (Namae wo Yobu yo) - Juke appears in the area with the escalator. They are with Arecos in the animals-only scenes. In group scenes, Juke's position varies. This song cover is when they depart for the battle in Twin Crew Stars.
• Twin Crew Stars - Juke participates in the planning session with Astel and is told to maintain the front line along with Phruity and Arecos. They fight alongside the STAR AnimaLs, confronting the army of [The One Who Rules The Universe] Astel. During the song performance section after their victory, Juke appears with Merck for the performance of One day / The ROOTLESS.

Juke in the Last Supper

• Juke is the one who drives the NefeloMakion, not Astel^[26].
• The STAR AnimaLs official logo was first revealed during Juke's reveal stream^[27].
• Both Juke and Arecos are revealed on the release dates for Hajimari no Kioku (Arecos for members release^[28], Juke for public release^[29]). This is possibly because they arrived on earth at the same time when Astel regained his memories enough for the launch of the game.
• In both animal and humanoid form, the crew addresses Astel in the same way. Juke appears to speak directly to Astel, not using his name or title^[30][31].
• Juke's difficulty level in the Hajimari no Kioku game is “Hard Hard Hard.” This is the second hardest difficulty in the game, surpassed only by Haruto who is the GM^[32].
• Juke's crew title / emblem pin is located on their collar. It resembles a bear, akin to their animal counterpart^[33].
