Phruity

Phruity (フルーティ) is one of the crew members of the NefeloMakion. She is Playable Character 2 (PC2) in the Hajimari no Kioku game. She is 23 years old during the events of the game. Her crew position is listed as Plants/Vegetation Officer (植物管理担当) and her role is listed as Kitchen Manager.

Her short profile states that she loves the Commander (Astel), she manages the edible plants on board the ship, and that she makes the food that everyone eats. Delicious!^[1]

Phruity is from the Other Dimension, but has a counterpart STAR AnimaL in this dimension. As stated in the events of Twin Crew Stars, the animal Phruity in this dimension has the memories and abilities of the humanoid Phruity from the other dimension due to a special inter-dimensional communication mechanism.

• Phruity is in charge of the crew's food and ingredients, including the edible plants grown on board for food.
• She is the head chef and basically handles all matters pertaining to food.
• Although her tasks and hobbies don't hint at it, Phruity is very athletic and prefers to fight in close combat.
• Ever since she met Astel, she's had romantic feelings for him. Astel is her absolute top priority.
• When it comes to accomplishing tasks she finds troublesome, she pushes those things onto other crew members and only does what she feels like doing.
• She cares about her friends and has a bit of a self-sacrificial spirit.
• Has a kind heart.

Basic Information

Phruity in this dimension comes in the form of a pink cat-like animal. She was retrieved from the planet Venus. She likes Apples. Her hobbies are cooking and cultivation. Her hex color code is #FFB2E7. She was found on Venus by Apolleon, Pollneu, and Merck. She is the second of the NefeloMakion crew counterpart animals to join Astel in this dimension.

Personality

Like her counterpart from the Other Dimension, Phruity is very fond of Astel, often clinging onto him and making him feel like the earth needs better temperature regulation^[4]. Apolleon mentioned that she cooks excellent food^[5]. Astel, however, experienced being fed main dish food every three hours upon her arrival and jokingly exclaimed “Something's going wrong with my body. You don't have to cook anymore, Phruity.”^[6] She sways her hips, winks, and blows kisses to the audience when performing in 3D, but always shifts her attention back to Astel afterwards^[7].

Recruitment

Recruiting Phruity starts when Apolleon, Pollneu, and Merck arrive on Venus on September 13, 2022 and Apolleon's comment on the planet is “There is no freedom here either.”^[8] On the following day, September 14, 2022, Astel mentions during a talk stream that there seems to be bad connection with the team on Venus which is strange since “they have Merck with them, so communication shouldn't be too bad” but he hopes that everything is going alright anyway^[9].

On September 15, 2022, Pollneu sends out a message in Morse Code message indicating that they are in danger^[10]:

The next day, September 16, 2022, while in the midst of a singing stream^[12], Astel receives a phone call from Merck:

Nn?
Yes.
Sorry, I can't hear you.
Merck? What's wrong?
Leon?
Is Leon alright?
That… Phruity? I'm sorry, I don't understand.
I understand.
I'll go now.
Merck, stay safe. Thank you.

He ends stream and leaves for Venus^[13]. Astel returns on the next day, September 17, 2022, having successfully retrieved Phruity and the others from Venus^[14]. While in his home, Phruity cooks for Astel and clings to him a lot, with Astel tweeting his experiences throughout this^[15][16]. She is officially introduced to Astel's viewers on September 21, 2022 after Astel draws her on stream^[17]. During her reveal, Astel mentions that Phruity will help with preparing the food for the investigation team while Merck can keep up the communication even if they have to travel to further places from now on^[18].

Post-Recruitment

After joining Astel in this dimension and beginning to live with him in his home, one day on October 23, 2022, Phruity prepares a fruit tart^[19]. It is this fruit tart that brings back Astel's memory of his crew from the other dimension. These memories are what he shares with his viewers via Hajimari no Kioku.

On November 5, 2022, a relationship chart^[20] is posted on the Star AnimaLs twitter account. Phruity's listed relationships are as follows:

When the animals split up into two groups to head to Uranus and Neptune^[21] on November 10, 2022, Phruity goes with Merck and Juke to Neptune in order to retrieve Stridon. Apolleon, Pollneu, and Arecos, on the other hand, go to Uranus to retrieve Uratty^[22].

Twin Crew Stars to Present

The day before Twin Crew Stars, a teaser video describes Astel and the STAR AnimaLs as “a certain team, striving and striving for a change in their destiny.”^[23]

During the events of Twin Crew Stars on December 7, 2022, Phruity goes with the other STAR AnimaLs and Astel to confront [The One Who Rules The Universe] Astel. Their departure is shown both in the Namae wo Yobu yo cover and in Twin Crew Stars itself.

In a flashback, it is shown that Astel assigned Phruity to be a front line fighter alongside Arecos and Juke. She is one of the two who sit across from Astel in the space train as they travel to the battlefield. Later on, in the scene wherein Apolleon is downed by the enemy, she can be seen beside Arecos and Merck.

After their victory, her 3D is revealed during the song おはよう (Ohayou) / Keno. Her partner in this reveal is Arecos. After the song, while she blows kisses at the audience and winks, Astel comments on her ability to give fanservice and warns his viewers to be careful about falling for her.

Currently, she resides in Astel's house^[24].

Humanoid

• 「星に集う、船員たちの思惑 -始まりの記憶-」(Hoshi ni tsudou, sen'in-tachi no omowaku - Hajimari no Kioku -) - Phruity is Playable Character 2 (PC2) in this game. She is one of the crew members attempting to solve the mystery. These events are set before Astel's debut in 2019.
• Twin Crew Stars - Phruity makes an appearance in this stream along with the rest of the named NefeloMakion crew. As one of the silhouettes in the crew sequence, she speaks second after Haruto. Instead of heeding the Vice-Commander's request to keep it short, she goes on to talk for several lines including asking about Astel's health, asking if Astel still remembers them, and informing Astel that interdimensional communication is up and running. Merck cuts her off when she starts talking about not yet being able to cross over to Astel's current dimension.

Animal

• 名前を呼ぶよ (Namae wo Yobu yo) - Phruity appears in the hallway with Merck in the animals-only scenes. In group scenes, she is usually beside Astel, either looking up at him in admiration or clinging onto his arm. This song cover is when they depart for the battle in Twin Crew Stars.
• Twin Crew Stars - Phruity participates in the planning session with Astel and is assigned to the front lines with Arecos and Juke. She fights alongside the STAR AnimaLs, confronting the army of [The One Who Rules The Universe] Astel. During the song performance section after their victory, she appears with Arecos for the performance of おはよう (Ohayou) / Keno.

Phruity in the Last Supper

• Phruity was a princess before joining the crew^[25].
• In both animal and humanoid form, the crew addresses Astel in the same way. For Phruity, she calls Astel “Commander-sama.”^[26][27]
• Phruity's difficulty level in the Hajimari no Kioku game is “Hard Hard.” She shares this difficulty level with Knoll and Stridon, only being surpassed in difficulty by Juke and Haruto^[28].
• Phruity's crew title / emblem pin is located on her skirt. It resembles a cat, akin to her animal counterpart^[29].
• The singing stream^[30] that Astel was doing when he was called away to retrieve animal Phruity had the following songs in its setlist, with Leo and One More Time, One More Chance seemingly foreshadowing the interruption:

• Animal Phruity had several image teasers before being fully revealed: ears^[31], paws^[32], tail^[33], nails^[34], and silhouette^[35].
• Animal Phruity's reveal was when the fanart hashtag for the STAR AnimaLs #絵ニマる was released.
• Animal Phruity joined the Last Supper image on October 18, 2022. She was the third animal in the image, after Apolleon and Merck. She has apples and honeydew melon as her fruits in front of her, and what looks to be apple pie as her dessert^[36].
• Phruity's stamp in Astel's Membership is “XOXO”^[37].
