Haruto

Haruto (ハルト) is one of the crew members of the NefeloMakion. He is the Game Master (GM) in the Hajimari no Kioku game. He is 19 years old during the events of the game. His crew position is listed as Vice-Commander (総帥補佐担当) and his role is listed as General Support.

His short profile states that he assists with fundamental/basic tasks like facilitating meetings, etc. He is more of a systems support (catering to the whole ship's affairs) rather than a personal one to Commander Astel. His left eye stays closed at all times.^[1]

Haruto is from the Other Dimension, but has a counterpart STAR AnimaL in this dimension that has not yet been found. As stated in the events of Twin Crew Stars, the animal Haruto in this dimension has the memories and abilities of the humanoid Haruto from the other dimension due to a special inter-dimensional communication mechanism.

• As the Vice-Commander, he is in charge of keeping the crew in order whenever Astel is busy or unavailable.
• He is always calm and collected. He treats everyone equally and has no particular favorites.
• The Commander (Astel) is his first priority. Everyone and everything else is lower on his list of priorities. Due to this line of thinking, Astel sometimes scolds him.
• The crew members often talk to Haruto, but Haruto doesn't particularly seek them out to talk to them individually outside of work-related reasons.
• He is usually around Astel and is never far away from him because of work. This makes the crew mistakenly assume that he is very fond of Astel.
• He has horns.

Haruto's counterpart STAR AnimaL in this dimension has not yet been found. As of December 11, 2022, Astel has an idea of where he could possibly be, but due to [The One Who Rules The Universe] Astel moving Pluto out of the solar system in this dimension, he has not yet been retrieved. While discussing this, Astel mentions that in the other dimension, Pluto is still part of their solar system. [The One Who Rules The Universe] Astel had a reason for moving Pluto away in this dimension, and it'll be explained in his Episode 0^[3].

A clue for Haruto's animal form can be seen via his crew title / emblem pin^[4].

• 「星に集う、船員たちの思惑 -始まりの記憶-」(Hoshi ni tsudou, sen'in-tachi no omowaku - Hajimari no Kioku -) - Haruto is the Game Master (GM) in this game. He is in-charge of facilitating the crew members in their attempt to solve the mystery. These events are set before Astel's debut in 2019.
• Twin Crew Stars - Haruto makes an appearance in this stream along with the rest of the named NefeloMakion crew. He is the first silhouette to appear and hence speaks first to remind the crew that they do not have much time and that their messages must be brief. He is also the last one to speak before the joint group message at the end. Haruto tells Astel that the crew will continue to believe in him, and to please be safe.

• Astel does not know the color of Haruto's left eye^[5].
• In both animal and humanoid form, the crew addresses Astel in the same way. For Haruto, he calls Astel “Commander.”^[6][7]
• If someone confesses their love to Haruto, he would reject them outright^[8].
• Haruto's difficulty level in the Hajimari no Kioku game is “Haaaaaarrddd!!!!” Being the GM, he is the hardest character to use in the game^[9].
• Haruto's crew title / emblem pin is located on his lapel. It is a horned animal^[10].
• Astel's birthday on June 6, 2023 is planned to center around a “Haruto Rescue/Recovery Arc.”^[11]
